  • KUOW Public Radio (Jan. 13): Hot take on Seattle schools social media lawsuit: ‘Moral panic’
    In a KUOW Public Radio interview that aired Jan. 13 about the Seattle Public Schools’ recently filed lawsuit against Meta, Google, TikTok and Snap, CIP faculty member Katy E. Pearce, an associate professor in the UW Department of Communication, said: “When we’re talking about kids, this amps up 1,000 degrees. And when we’re thinking about how these things can affect kids, people tend to fall into what we call moral panics.”
